I’m Ayumi, the owner of Kawaii Mania.
As a Japanese person, the word “Kawaii” has always held a special place in my heart. In Japanese, kawaii means cute, adorable, and lovable—but to me, it means so much more. It brings back happy memories and that little feeling of joy you get when you discover something simply too cute to resist.
I created Kawaii Mania to share that feeling with you.
I love discovering kawaii items from Japan and the U.S. and introducing them to fellow collectors and anyone who enjoys cute and charming things. Whether you're looking for something nostalgic, something to add to your collection, or simply something that makes you smile, I hope you’ll find a little happiness here.
My Love for Calico Critters & Sylvanian Families
My collecting journey has a very special story.
When I was a little girl, Sylvanian Families were some of my favorite toys to play with. Decades later, I happened to meet them again—and it felt like reconnecting with a wonderful part of my childhood.
I fell in love with them all over again.
What started as nostalgia became a true passion, and today I am an avid collector of Calico Critters and Sylvanian Families. My own collection has become a very special part of my life, filled with characters and tiny details that continue to make me happy.
I also began selling these treasures on Mercari under the username Anzuuu. Over the years, I have sold more than 1,100 items, with a 5-star rating from my customers. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has trusted me and shared my love for these adorable little worlds.
From Tokyo to Southern California
I’m originally from Tokyo, Japan, and now I live in Southern California’s Orange County with my husband and son.
Our home is also shared with something very important to me—my beloved Calico Critters and Sylvanian Families collection! ♡
Living between Japanese and American cultures has given me the opportunity to discover cute and unique items from both places. Through Kawaii Mania, I hope to bring some of those discoveries to you.

I’m planning to expand the shop beyond Calico Critters and Sylvanian Families and introduce even more adorable brands and items that I love, including Chiikawa, Sanrio, Sumikko Gurashi, Disney, mofusand, and many more.
And it won’t be just toys! I’m excited to bring you a variety of kawaii stationery and other cute everyday items as well.
My goal is to create a little shop where you can discover something adorable every time you visit—a place filled with things that make you say, “Kawaii!” ♡
